El llençol daurat i la maledicció del caseriu Agerre

En el passat vivien gentils en Jentilbaratza. Moltes nits baixaven al caseriu Agerre a jugar a cartes, fins que el gall cantés a l’alba.

Una vegada l’amo d’Agerre es va posar malalt i va acudir a l’església a rebre els sagraments. Quan els gentils ho van saber, encara que no eren cristians, van baixar el llençol daurat a Agerre i van vestir el llit amb ell perquè el malalt rebés els sants sagraments.

Segons sembla, els d’Agerre desitjaven quedar-se amb el llençol daurat, el van clavar al llit, i fins i tot van obligar al gall a cantar.

Quan els gentils van sentir el cant del gall, van tirar del llençol i es van anar corrent, però un tros del llençol va quedar pegat al llit, i els gentils van llençar una maledicció: que mentre Agerre fora Agerre, en aquella casa no faltarien malalties o discapacitats. I des de llavors sempre hi ha hagut alguna persona malalta a Agerre.
